Hi,
If you are stranded and are dehydrating so you are considering eating snow to get water for survival then you should consider that eating the snow will drop your body temperature, so your body will burn energy to keep you from freezing, and you don't want to be burning any extra energy, if you are stranded, you want to conserve your energy to help you to live longer.
If you are at a tropical resort on holidays you might like to try a frappe, or a slushie, or a frozen cocktail, these are all similar to snow but with flavours and or alcohol. There are also things called snow cones which are basically snow with cordial ( concentrated fruit drink) poured over the snow for flavour.
In particular countries and particular regions, there are various industies whic put pollution into the air. This pollution can be absorbed into the water vapour of the air and then fall to theearth as snow. For example, in germany and France, you wouldn't eat the snow (or drink untreated rain water)there because it is filled with carbonic acid. In the nertherlands and sweden you wouldn't eat the snow or drink untreated rain water because there are entire lakes which have become so polluted from rain water that all the life in the lakes have died, no fish, no plants, nothing is able to live because of the huge amount of pollution from the rain and snow.
Also the snow' like the rain comes from the clouds which are in the upper atmoshpere. Up there in the wild blue yonder, there are various spores which have floated around up there for thousands of years and being so far up in the atmosphere, it is the edge of space, so possibly any spores which may have come from outer space, they might get trapped in the rain / snow and fall to earth, and if you eat the snow / drink the water you might ingest those spores. The saving grace with water / drinking the rain, is that water H2O is known as the greatest solvent. It will react with such an enormous number of materials and corrode them, break them down dissolve them/ kill them. So generally most spores which might have come from outerspace would most likely have been broken down by the solvent nature of the water.
HOWEVER in the case of snow, the solvent nature of the water has been paused, the physical state of the water is such that the solvent ability of the water has been reduced so it not been able to kill any microbes which may have come from outerspace. So if you eat snow you might be eating deadly bacteria from outerspace, or ingesting any kind of pollutants which have not had time to be broken down by the liquid properties of water.
By the way a spore is basically a microscopic entity like a bacteria, or virus or seed or pollen ( generally any potentially living thing ) which is in hybernation and is covered in a protective layer. Imagine a bear hybernating in winter and it is protected by an armour plating.
Good luck

it's not bad to eat snow as long as it's clean. obviously you shouldn't eat that brown snow thats dirty from shoveling or yellow snow for.. obvious reasons. don't eat snow that's been stepped on either. snow is basically frozen water, so there's nothing wrong with it.

If you are talking about eating snow to survive if you are lost in a snow storm, then it is because eating snow makes you lose body heat thereby giving you hypothermia. A lot of lost people die from eating snow when they are trying to survive.
If you eat yellow snow; well we all know what Zappa said about that.

sometimes eating snow is called bad because it actually takes more energy for your body to melt the snow into usable water than the actual amount of energy you get from consuming the snow. Basically, if you are out in the woods and you need water, it is better to find some other source of energy(like fire) to melt the snow for you and then you drink

Assuming that the snow is clean, the only hazard would be from over-chilling your innards if you do it too quickly.
