Can't narrow it down to just one, but here's some...
Not enough English speakers here.
Horrible drivers and most of them aren't even tourists but actual residents.
Rude, ignorant people (customer service is not pretty, just a forewarning).
Expensive, I suggest shopping off of International Drive (I-Drive) or US 192, where they have the same things as the theme parks do but a "discounted" rate. Even shopping at Wal-Mart for some Disney souvenirs saves big bucks.
Like everyone else has stated crime is an issue here, just like any other place, but as long as you don't go "wondering" around the city at night, leave your purse/bag/valuables out in the open unsupervised, leave your car unlocked, etc... (the obvious) you should be fine. If you do want to explore the city don't ask a random person on the street, but ask an employee of store or something.
Hope this helped some, and you enjoy your trip!

You only want one? Orlando has surpassed Wash. D.C. as the murder capital of the country. I have been driving for over 30 years and have driven in 47 of the 50 states and NOWHERE are the drivers more maniacal than they are here !!! & as ditzychick said, these are the "locals" not the tourists. State Road 50, otherwise known as Colonial Drive (among others) is the 12th most dangerous road in the entire country !!!
Oh, yes, you just missed the hurricane season, which is an annual occurrence from June 1-November 30...These are just the highlights, if I continued on, you would be reading this list all day. I moved here 2 years ago and I hate it !!!
I can't wait till I move out of this state !!!
Now I will tell you how I really feel...

Stroller (baby buggy) hell. The theme parks are packed with them and a good number or the 'drivers' aren't paying attention to who they cut in front of or run over etc...
Sorry I love kids and the theme parks are great places for kids and so there will always be strollers but please be careful and courteous when pushing these monstrosities through the parks.
Also just got back from MGM tonight, my husband and I went to see The Osborne Family light show. It was beautiful, I'd say worth it to see, but it was a nightmare trying to get through the people too many were viewing the world through their camera view finders and hence were walking all over those around them.

Orlando is great - just dont be foolish. As long as you act the same as if you were back home in the city ...you know what i mean? The crime is not too bad keep your money in your pocket and your wallet in another. Dont wear a "fanny pack" since that screams complete tourist. :)
Other than that - on your way back make sure you dont have any extra bugs in your suitcase - such as a roach or somthing - we brought back one with us one time i almost died! Needless to say - all that went in the trash! lol :)
Have a great trip!

The crime rate is up this year 327%, last I heard. Still not too bad compared to some other big cities, but a little scary for those of us who live here.

that i don´t have enough time or money to enjoy all the wonderfull things in that beautifull place.
Maybe because i´m from Guatemala, and the crime and traffic here cannot be worst, i´m feel free and safe in Orlando.
