omg, i will probably be your best answer, because i will understand you the most, because i have done the same thing, just months ago.

let me tell you, i've went from 1200 calories, to 600, to 200, to nothing at all...

my grades, apperance, attitude, and views on life COMPLETELY changed ALL because i was SO obssesed with losing those pounds.

After reading so much, and seeing a movie called 'thin' i said, thats it, i'm through with being obssed with calories.

now that i am eating about 1500 calories a day (what im suppose to eat) i've gotten my friends, looks, and GRADES back. MY LIFE is 2000x better!!

trust me it takes time, but being thin is NOT worth the other things you have to go through.

hang in there hun!!

Ok, First off lets address your calorie intake!! The average person needs a certain amount of calories a day for proper nutrition. It varies from person to person according their height to weight ratio.Even some of the most "Extreme Diets" only require a 1000 calories a day.And should only be done at the most, 7 days.
When, you depreive your body of food.Your body literally goes into starvation mode.Of course this may take a little while but if you do it long enoough it will get there. When the body goes into starvation mode.It basically hoards your fat cells and lets the body burn off precious muscle. The reason being.... the fat is richer and provides a better fuel for a starving body than muscle. After that, your metabolism slows down, literally!! It does this conserve fuel so to speak. When your metabolism slows down,it is very hard to loose weight.because it has gone into conservation mode.
Later on down the road if you continue this.... Hair loss, bone density, heart problems, thryoid problems may become a reality for you.Not to mention that death from malnutrition is very possible at any of these stages.
If you eat right, excersie and watch what you eat.Your not going to have to worry about your weight. Please reconsider your diet plan. You might benefit from a nutritionist or possibly counceling to understand your fear of weight gain.Take care of your body and it will take care of you sweetie~!!

Wow... this sounds like anorexia to me. You are atleast 3 pounds underweight for your height. You should talk to someone about this. It can really get ugly in the long run and have many effects that are irreversible. 1,500-2,000 calories is what you will need to maintain your current weight and keep your systems running. I can't tell you to just eat because it is really much more than that. Anorexia is a fatal disease that attacks your mind as well as body. It is best to seek counseling to recover but even that is a long shot. Anorexia has a pretty high mortality rate, but I overcame it alone off the sheer will to live and be healthy. Not everyone can do that. Please seek help. and make sure you have a good support system around you.

Having your leg broken, you're going to need the nutrients you are denying yourself if you want to heal properly. Osteoporosis and so forth are anoresxia's best friends. You can really hurt yourself.... seek treatment as soon as possible.... Please.

Is there a medical reason for you only eating 600 calories a day? This is way too little. An adult female needs 2500 a day. You are also underweight and I am concerned for your health. Please try to eat a little more, and make sure you are getting your vitamins. You must see a doctor who will be able to advise you as it sounds as if you are anorexic. Don't worry about putting on a little weight as it will make you look healthier and make your constitution much stronger. It will help your leg mend much quicker too and then you can do some exercising.

If you keep trying to live on 600 cals per day, you won't have to worry about it. It will save your family a fortune though, 'cos they can get an extra small coffin.

You need to be eating around 1800/day, and even without being able to take exercise, your body will burn it off. It's trying to mend a broken bone, which takes energy. Existing on your starvation diet to avoid getting fat will (a) mean it takes longer for your leg to heal and (b) that you are likely to suffer from malnutrition.

Eat cakes! Drink beer! Be happy! :)

Do you mean 600 a days or 6000 your question confused me, the daily average for women is 2000 a day. Im 5ft 5 and 160 odd pounds but stil not classed as overweight. (according to the machine in Boots :P)

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. It boosts your metabolism and raises natural ephadrine, the hormone which burns fat. According to Jeya Holly, professor of human nutrition in Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon as part of your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 per cent!

Go bland. Plain, straightforward, unseasoned food such as smoked chicken, plain rice and a nude baked potato are nutritious but your palette will tire of these individuals quickly, unlike salty moreish refined food, which keeps you snacking and piling about the pounds.

Chewing your food thoroughly will make digestion easier, but will allow your body time to recognise when it's actually full, thus preventing eating too much.

Are you on crutches or immobile? If you are immobile, you will need fewer calories - ask your doctor. If you are on crutches you are getting a lot of exercise (a great chance to gain upper body strength - wait until you see your biceps after a month on crutches!) And you will therefore need more calories (again, ask your doctor - hard to guess without knowing your body type and metabolism). I guess you can't weigh yourself if you have a cast!
