I HAVE THE AMD 64 3700+ AND IT RULES> DEFINITELY GET THE AMD.

Go with the AMD for now. The one difference between the proccessors you need to look for is the FSB and the L1 cache. The faster the FSB of the CPU the fater it will communicate with components, and the more L1 cache, the more information the CPU can basically line up to execute.

Intel seems to be better at that with the Pentium D's 9 series. If it's a Pentium D 8xx, go with the amd. Remmeber each motherboard for the 2 processors are completley different.

Go with the AMD. Check out the cpu charts at the link below. The pentium d is NOT dual core.

Any AMD is 150% better at gaming than the Pentium D CPU's, even a Sempron is better than most Pentium D CPU's.

you wont notice much difference ... the amount and speed of ur memory, and ur harddrives will affect gaming more ... and the main thing is get a fast video card ..
