I want to create a nonprofit.
To save money and simplify,
I prefer it if the board can "meet"
via internet chat room. I also prefer it if the board can have few members. Some states require more board members or require face-to-face meetings. Which states are the best ones to incorporate in? And can I pick any state or must I (or
something) reside there (what is the residency requirement and for whom - we plan to exist distributed throughout the world via cyberspace so physical location may be largely irrelevant, at least
at first).

From the MN Council for Non Profits - how to start a non profit http://www.mncn.org/info_start.htm

This lawfirm has basic info for EVERY state - just change the last letters in the url, before the html, to the 2 initials for the state you are interested in. For example, New York ihttp://www.hurwitassociates.com/l_s_initial_ny.html
