First, curl your lashes near your roots and hold for about 5 seconds. Curl each eye's eyelashes only ONCE because they can get a funny kink in them if you curl them more than once. Then apply your mascara. If you apply your mascara and then curl your lashes, you can pull out your eyelashes because the mascara will make them stick to the curler.

I have always been told to curl your lashes before you apply mascara. I believe the reason is b/c when you apply mascara and then curl you damage your lashes b/c of the mascara product on your lashes. Its sticky and can tear lashes out

Always before. You will find it helpful to also brush the lashes with a clean brush before applying mascara. This with help seperate the lashes as well for when you do apply to mascara, you get a cleaner, and not-as-clustered look, giving you thick lashes, but giving a good look to you as well.

I think that it works best if you curl your lashes a few minutes after you put on mascara that way it is like glue and holds your eyelashes that way. It doesn't work for me if I curl them before. And if you wait a few min. after you put on the mascara it will be dry so it will not pull out your eyelashes, or be messy.

It is better to use your eyelash curler before you apply your mascara. The reason being that your eyelashes are brittle after you apply mascara which will lead to the curler pulling out your eyelashes. Plus, it's alot less messy to curl them before.

BEFORE!! also, if you use eyeliner, put the eyeliner first, then curl your lashes, then put on your mascara!! it works the best. if you curl your lashes after you put on mascara it will totally mess up your lashes, and it will stick to the curler.
