Dear Puresnow:
OK, lets face it, the Internet (the information superhighway)
is here to stay, and I think we can all recognize that.
IT(information technology) has literally exploded with many tributaries and possibilities with regard to business, industry,
video gaming, and all the many sub-applications powered by
the computer software industry, the list goes on. . .
Susan and I have been together for 26 years now, she works
as a medical LASER regulatory assistant, first grade, I am
a disabled navy veteran, semi-retired.
Susan is 55 years of age, I'm 67 years of age.
We don't mind revealing our ages, we are not seeking managed
images, like celebrities are driven to.
The strength of our relationship is found in the acceptance of each other's shortcomings and the ever increasing ability to
feel comfortable with each other, beyond a daily basis.
Susan and I share humor, with great vigor, and we try to find things in every day life to laugh with, but not at.
You might say, Susan is my number one companion, my best friend, and of course my lover, as I am hers.
Yet, we are individually different people, Susan = Taurus, I'm
a Pisces, in the houses of the Zodiac, she can be very stubborn and very straight thinking, I'm more of a dreamer and an idealist,
and I'm constantly looking for the good in people (cup half full)
while keeping the best of my dreams at the top of my list.
Some persons would say thats pie in the sky thinking, perhaps it is, but I maintain a person should never lose sight of their goals,
dreams and ambitions, achieved or not.
And I have excellent ESP, she does too, but not as pronounced as mine.
Since she is a Taurus (the bull) she is an earth sign, and that
description is close to the truth.
I'm a Pisces (twin fishes) a water sign, flounder out of their
media, and sometimes I think that happens to me, but I have
to move on with my life, I can't get hung up on one detail.
I don't think we have a stronger relationship than most, you
have to keep in mind, which man, which woman?
The best you could expect in measuring that type of a question would be to look at the per centages of successful, long term
marriages, to those unsuccessful short term marriages.
In California almost 50% of all marriages wind up in divorce court,
too high of per centages, but that happens if a couple wants to
committ to a permanent relationship, based on only knowing
one or two sides of the individual.
I believe that long engagements to be married are vitally necessary, as is pre-marital counseling for both parties.
Some relationships are bad enough to start out with, and just grow progressively worse, after the "period of adjustment" or
the honeymoon wears out.
Remember, democracy begins right in the home, the seat of
love and trust, and all the core family values that go with it.
Morals, scruples and principles, all important elements of the core family value package, it cannot be forgotten or overlooked.
Our society has enough social engineering dysfunctions as it is,
it is everyone's responsibility to preserve, protect and defend those family values.
As for use of the Internet, we just use common sense, we have two computers both hooked up to our AT&T-Yahoo high speed
Internet, so there isn't any rivalry or jealously, we know when to call it quits while working the computer workstation.
Thats my message, good luck
