It depends on the type of Operating system you want to run. If you're running Mac OS, Apple is the obvious (and only) choice. If you run windows, I have always had great luck and no problems with Hewlett-Packard. HP and microsoft work closely together so their products are almost always designed for each others products. Dell and Gateway are good from what I've been told, but I always had to call tech support and they always seemed to try to pawn my questions off to Microsoft tech support. It all boils down to the features you want: get what you need and can afford.

I agree with Vanessa, Apple is a standout brand and their products are terrific. I tried one for the first time 6 years ago and I'll never go back to owning a pc again. They're a smidge pricier than a pc but well, well, worth it.

Well, currently Dell and HP are probably the leading brands. I would personally go for a Dell, but that's my personal opinion. Both companies are very good, and I know that HP has very good service.

imo there is no best brand .. you have to know what the different options are that are available then u find one with what u want at the best price with a decent warranty ..
