YES!
As much as this will turn the stomachs of many, during the life of Aristotle, the ultimate love was considered to be that between two men or a man and a boy. Women were seen only as carriages to form new life.

Back before Christianity spread, it was acceptable in many places in Europe at least. Homosexuality seems to have become unacceptable with the spread of that religion. An example is the Celts. It was acceptable in Celtic lands before they were lied to and converted.

yes, the "Sodomy laws" were used to outlaw male homosexuality - they existed in every state until 1971, and the last state Sodomy Laws (in Texas and a few other conservative Southern and Western states) were repealed by the Supreme Court less than 10 years ago
But, in the United States military, it is still a court-martialable offense to have consensual gay or lesbian sex. 600 soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines were dishonorably discharged from the military last year for the "crime" of having sex with somebody of the same gender. (before 9/11, 2,000 gays and lesbians a year got discharged - wartime manpower needs have made it very costly for the DoD to kick out large numbers of trained soldiers just because they're gay)

In Sodom and Ghomorrah gays ran the cities, and demanded homo sex from people who visited there. God took care of that, and now people can visit the area without fear of homosexual rape.
