Nope, Just keep the basin full all the time so that it can drink when ever it needs too. It won't drink more than it needs! Also a few tips...(if you haven't allready put it up). Make sure the first watering after you bring it into the house isn't too hot or cold....keep it pretty room temperature so that the tree dosen't go into shock, also if you buy a precut tree, or cut one down your self and then take a few days to put it up make sure you trim off the bottom of the trunk because sometimes they'll kind of dry over and then they won't be able to absorbe water proberly....good luck!

No. As long as it's not spilling onto the floor, give the tree as much water as you like: It'll slurp it right on up.

Now, if you're talking about a live tree that will be planted after the holidays, you might want to watch it a bit. But again, trees are heavy drinkers.

No but you must make sure the tree has all the water it needs to drink or it will dry out way too quickly.
