Another thing that can factor into it is are you breastfeeding? Hormones are a crazy thing! After my third child when I had my first actual period, I bled like a stuck pig!!! I was so scared, my husband called his mom (a nurse) for advice. It calmed down after that, and went back to 'normal' after about 6 months. My last child is 3 now, and my periods get wacky every now and then still. Oh, the joys of being a woman!

I am unsure if your body ever goes back normal I myself have 3 children and an not remember it being normal,
after my first I bled for 8 weeks and skipped 2 months and was getting them somewhat normal for 3 months and got repregnant,
after child 2 bled for 7 weeks skipped 3 months and had a really weird schedule for a year and a half and
after baby 3 got my bled for 4 weeks but after a week got my tubes tied and had a normal schedule for a while but now every 2 weeks I blled for 4-7 days and I hate it.

It's normal, especially if you're breasfeeding. It takes a while for the hormones responsible for menstruation to regulate again after birth.

yes thats normal, after i had my baby i had a period that month, the next month i didnt have one at all, the month after that i did and thats when it was normal, so i'd say 2-3 months for it to be regular again.

Yes but make sure when you go back to your doctor to ask him/her about it. But your hormones are nutty....it took you 9 mos to get there...so at least give it that to get back. Congratulations.
