try using a good toilet cleaner or a good bleach would also work . but u need to keep it for some time or as per directions on the bottle.

add bleach, use brush, put top down and let it stay like that for at least an hour.
Bleach products can be used on the rest of the toilet but not at the same time.

Once I used the Works toilet cleaner, I never tried anything else. I squirt it on, brush it off, and I am done. It works great.
