You click on the font file, then you click extract/unzip, to this specific folder called C:\Windows\Fonts.

If you are currently running a program (like Adobe Photoshop) or what then you have to restart the program to see the font, if I'm not wrong.

Hope this helps :)

If the fonts you downloaded are clubbed together as a single compressed file (such as .rar or .zip), you will need a data compression/decompression utility to extract the fonts to any location on your PC.

(If the file you downloaded has a .rar extension, you will need a utility such as WinRAR. If it has a .zip extension, you can use WinZIP or the default extraction feature in Windows XP itself.)

Now follow these instructions:

1. Create a folder in My Documents and name it MY FONTS.

2. Double-click the compressed file and when the decompression utility (WinRAR or WinZIP) prompts you to select a location to extract the fonts to, select the newly created folder MY FONTS.

3. Extract all the fonts to this location.

4. Go to 'Control Panel' > 'Fonts'

5. In 'File' menu, click on 'Install New Font'.

6. In the dialog box that opens, browse and select 'MY FONTS' folder.

7. Make sure the 'Copy fonts to Fonts folder' option is checked.

8. Click ok.

(If you have downloaded a large number of fonts, it may not be advisable to copy the fonts to the Fonts folder. In such case, leave the 'Copy fonts to Fonts folder' option unchecked. BUT REMEMBER, your computer will search for the fonts in MY FONTS folder instead. You must not delete or move this folder if you chose to not copy all the fonts to the default Fonts folder in Control Panel.)

During installation of fonts, computer might alert you if the fonts you are installing already exist in the Fonts folder. Skip such fonts when prompted.

In general most people download to "my documents" although you should be given the option to download to where you want. Pick a place in your pc that is most comfortable for you to access easily. You should have a "My Documents" Icon on your desk top you can click on to accsess your downloads easily. So try downloading to The "my documents" folder. Good luck. Mikie.
