Donald Trump fired Carol because as was stated in the news her ego started to get in the way of her performance at the Trump Organization. But other's speculate that she was fired due to the fact that she was going to leave the organization anyhow and firing her would create greater press for the Trump brand.

He said her head got too big with all the media attention. He said that work and the media do not always mix well and she could not handle it professionally. Something to that effect.

Because he felt that she was no longer focused on her job and that being a celebrity had gone to her head. Too bad, she was one of the reasons I liked watching "The Apprentice."
