IT means Information Technology.
Now a days computer has become an unavoidable resource everywhere and the technology used in that field is IT, which has become the major resource in every field.

Information Technology.
IT means different things to different companies. Generally it means computers, software, networking, printers, scanners, backup tapes, etc.
It could also include database management, writing software, writing reports, data mining, or copiers, projectors, audio visual, ETC. It depends on the size and what the company does, how it presents it's information, and what information it needs.
As long as companies need information IT will remain important.
