I've got a 3 year old cousin, I'm getting her a Disney Princess dressing up treasure chest because she loves Cinderella & is very girly, its not too expensive either so smiles all round!
If she's a girly girl how about something similar?
Or some dvd's she could watch?
Or some books that would help her learn as well as play?
Colouring set?
Jigsaw?
There's so many things, Toy Master Kingdon & Argos are good for children's toys ideas.

I got my niece a 3 1/2 foot tall stuffed horse (w/saddle built on so she can ride), and a cute little Winnie the Pooh futon for Christmas last year when she was 3 and they are still her favorite toys. Both were from Walmart.

Bubble bath mixture and rubber ducks. My sister loved them at that age, and little kids love to play in the bath.
