I like to look at comics on the internet, but, loading every single page is too slow. I was wondering If someone skilled in HTML could help me make a code that grabs Images from websites and posts all the images on 1 webpage. I'm looking for a code that updates the comics on the webpage when they are updated on the site of origin (usually daily)

I already use a RSS feed to look at comics, but it takes me directly to the page. Also, I don't have permission from the owners of the websites. Does that mean that what I'm doing is Illegal? If it is, I rather not do it.

Ok, since it is stealing I wont link directly to the images, however, I did tweak my RSS script so it works a bit better, thank you :P

you'll need more than html to do that
and you'll need the permission of the owners of those comics to do so .
what you want to do is called leeching, and most sites already combat that buy restricting whom can link to their copyright protected content.

Yes , what you want to do can be considered illegal. YOu need permission from the owners in order to publish their content on your own page

And that is the point of rSS feeds. tto make you visit the website the content came from.

If you have an RSS feed, then you already have permission so no problems there.

You'd need to have a script that retrieves the comic from the identified pages. The pages would have to have the comic be in the same place every day so you'd know where to leech the page from (like if the comic was called dilbert.20061202.jpg you'd have to build a date function so you could properly get the jpg link).

Some sites block direct access to the graphic and might even through up an offensive graphic or just an "image not found" page.

These guys are making their money by having people look at the page and clicking on the advertising or getting donations. If someone doesn't pay them or pay for the comic somehow, they have no incentive to continue creating the comic.

properly, you want to understand HTML, MySQL, Java, probable Hypertext Preprocessor, CSS, C, C++, Obj-C and that is purely for starters. To make a reliable, reliable app it would probable take some weeks or months reckoning on the complexity. To create and put up apps to Apple, you desire a developer account, the position you'll get the iPhone progression SDK (the framework to make iPhone apps, android has one too) and put up your application (registration is free). also desire a progression application, like Xcode. you want to have those coding languages down like you comprehend english. once you comprehend them, it would surely, truly help to understand some algorithms to get your software to do issues. in short, in case you comprehend no longer something about programming now, Im sorry to say its going to be a lengthy time period previously you could make an app and put up it. purely initiate out straight forward with HTML and make some web pages, its an basic language to earnings. After that learn C to make some straight forward classes. After studying C studying maximum different languages is extremely basic.

What you're talking about is called an RSS feed, and there are already feeds available online for all kinds of comics (check a site for a little orange icon w/ white curves - that lets you know that site has RSS feeds available - Google and Yahoo use them for your personal pages.)...

You may need to be more concerned about the speed of your connection; if you're having to get coffee while you're downloading just one page w/ graphics from one site, you might as well go our for the afternoon if you're waiting for multiple sites' graphics to load on one page. ;)

it's all about ad revenue! if you swipe the comics, and show them without their advertisers getting seen.... they don't get paid...

so that is stealing.

if you link to their sites, they will love you!

UPDATE!

great! they will love you!!!
