It's the side of the moon which is always facing away from the earth and hence we can never see it. The same side of the moon is always facing the earth because it's period of rotation is the same as it's period of orbit, about 28 days.

Interestingly, although we call it the "dark side" of the moon, it is not always dark. When there is a new moon, the side we can see is actually facing away from the sun, so the "dark side" is facing the sun and probably pretty bright!
This is also the case when it's waxing and waning, you can see that the shaded part covers part of the side facing us and part of the "dark side".

Not the dark side it is just that it is hid from us . the moon always keep the same side toward the earth and rotates 1 time every 28 days.

The dark side of the moon is the side we never get to see because the side we do see is always facing the earth due to the way it rotates and the earth rotates on its axis at the same rate.

it's not really the dark side. it's just we don't see it from earth as the moon is tidally locked in orbit (ie it dosen't rotate much). the far side does get hit by the sun. for example in a solar eclipse if the sun behind the moon it must be lighting the side we can't see.
