Despite its name, metaphysics is basically unrelated to physics. It is in no way the 'next logical step' from physics. Physics is already multidimensional.

Our understanding of physics comes from the past 2000-3000 years of observation and mathmatics. We have come up with equations that are able to predict the physical world around us. this knowledge contiunues in incremental steps as people solve small problems to develop products that sell for money. Most research and development is by corporations. Some of it is academia or governmental and these groups also come up with useful information.

I think this doesn't translate well to the world of metphysics- nobody has found a good business plan to invest vast amounts of money and a reasonable assurance that the money could be recovered by selling some product or service. The other problem is, our feeble human minds have difficulty grasping a reasonable understanding of metaphysics. If many people observed a metaphysical event, half of them would not believe it and the other half would all have a different explanation of what happened. this makes it tough to come up with a mathmatical formula for predicting the next occurance.

i think there's something you mess up here physics already include multidimensionality.

the difference between physics and metaphysics is that in physics a theory is dismissed if it proofs to be wrong, and has to be able to get reproduced.

in metaphysics people tend to believe in something which in most cases can't even be proofed out of statistics.
i read a few books in this branch just out of curiosity and i felt like having it to do with idiots cause rationality wasn't on the list somehow.. sorry .. if this is our 'next step' then why do we step back into the dark ages ?

i think meta physics is at no dimensional level or at infinite dimension level. Ofcourse both or same. It is nothing but spirituality. It should be taught by God only.
