URGENT: Carbon dioxide is 1 1/2 times denser than air and slightly soluble in water. Anhydrous copper sulphate is white but turns blue if any water or water vapour is present. Carbon dioxide is given off when a metal carbonate reacts with dilute acid. Describe 2 different experimental routes to obtain test tubes full of pure,dry carbon dioxide gas

Turn a test tube upside down filled with metal carbonate solution in a beaker of the same solution. Add acid and see the CO2 bubbles form and collect in your test tube. Stick a plastic tube to the "bottom" of the test tube and run it through a anhydrous copper sulphate filter to dry the collected gas.
