Why do so many people sit in front of their PC asking silly questions?

Personally, I find it interesting to read other people's answers. Answering questions is fun because it gives me a feeling of trying to help someone else and sharing my (limited) knowledge of certain topics. And it makes me think about where I might go to find an answer to help someone. It's kind of a mind exercise.

I have got answers to practical questions far more quickly than searching on the internet. And it is nice to know someone is reading what we have just written and willing to help with a reply..

I answer questions to try and help people.
I don't set around and do it all day.
But I do see where you are coming from.
Some people don't have anything better to do with there time, and it can keep kids entertained for some time.

We have nothing else to do, especially when you're disabled and it's just about all you got to do.
Why do you ask & answer questions?

cuz it's fun and if a question happens to insult a social group to which we belong (and that happens fairly often) we feel obligated to defend ourselves and afore-mentioned social group.
