Dont be silly.
Weight Lifting causes secretion of MORE growth hormones, not less..
And if your 5.10/5.11 you shouldn't be worrying about your height anyway.
Your body has another few of years to go in terms of growth, and having a healthy nutritious diet during these years will actually help you grow/develop more - If you start training with weights now you will need to eat well, you could well gain an extra half-inch in height just through a good diet.
Also remember, bodybuilding/weighlifting (if done right) will result in broader shoulders/back and more developed arms/chest - this will make you look taller than you actually are.. So you will look taller than someone of exactly the same height who is skinnier than you.
I wish I had started training when I was about 16, it does more than make you look good, you feel a lot better about yourself, and the proper diet will make you "feel good" in general.
One caveat in terms of your original question. Hardcore weight lifters, and I mean hardcore, 20 years hardcore, with Olympic style weights, these people could suffer a small loss in height due to spinal compression through training legs, exercises like Hack Squat can put a lot of pressure on the spinal column - however, having a good muscle set around your spinal column through training will aid posture.
Get down the gym..

weight training doesnt stunt your growth but what it can do is damage your skeleton and muscles especially in young people who are still growing. Its ok to start with light weights and a few reps, slowly build up to heavier weights over time, but also do loads of cardio workout and get a trainer at the gym to advice you on diet and exercise, and speak to your doctor before starting. And yes you are lucky to be that tall Im only 5 9. Good luck

I don't think lifting weights alone will stunt your growth. Unless you go way overboard. Athletes like gymnasts and wrestlers are usually associated with stunting their growth. this happens because they are always tearing their muscles down in exercise and the body must use its energy to repair those torn muscles before it gives energy to the growth of the body. so as long as you dont go and kill yourself on the weights you should be fine

Hmmm, I've never heard that it stunts your growth, why would it? Your genes and your eating habits are what's going to determine how tall you ultimately get. Lifting will just make you healthier, and look better (stay away from the 'roids, obviously), but enjoy the workouts.
