Really rich? I guess at least a million, as the average house prices in my area are over a million now. Possibly several million.

What would I be willing to do for it? Ah, there's the rub: I'm both honorable and lazy, so there's not much. Write one of the books I've been threatening to write, if I knew I could make that kind of money doing it. Possibly take on some challenging project because I had an interest in its outcome (a Liza Doolittle makeover, perhaps), but not because of the money. Money's just not that important. It's useful, I will grant you, but not really that important overall, once minimum survival level is established.

They say at least several million dollars of INCOME PER YEAR to be "really rich". Having a couple million bucks as a lump sum just makes you a chump. That's because really rich people have multiple mansions, with a service staff tending each one, and they take elaborate trips, have lots of accountants and advisers and lawyers on staff, etc. You need a constant flow of money. Pretty soon it adds up.

Grassy says it would take at least $3-4 million to be a millionaire in yesterday's standards.

Grassy is well on his way...perhaps marry well.

Zero cents. Richness is in the spirit.
