That depends on what your 13 year old is allowed to play. Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas (as are the other Grand Theft Auto Series) is made up of violence and foul language. In San Andres, I suppose they threw in the sex toy and prostitutes for giggles.... A guy can take the prostitute behind a bush and you can actually hear their sounds. Not a good game for the young in my book. :)

im thirteen and grand theft auto, is awesome, it is because of the things you can do there that you can't do in real life it doesn't promote anything unless the kid thinks they should do that!!! Anyways its a fun game for people almost any age great chatting

I would say go for it....9 times out of 10 people just play the game to drive the cars i was playing it at grand theft auto since i was twelve it depends on your child if he is one of the ones that see stuff on tv and try to act it out THIS IS NOT THE GAME FOR HIM if hes one of the ones just to play the game then just go for it.

How sheltered do you wish to keep them? I feel that things on games don't make people mis-behave, it makes them aware of the world around them. If evil does possess them it is easier to deal with now while they are younger. You control their destiny. Use the tools to your advantage. A many conversations can be started from these games. Just don't give it to them to get them out of your hair. Grow with them.

it is not the games that encourage violence in children, rather how the child is raised. if parents take an active role in actually parenting their children and not leaving it up to society to do for them then they can teach their children the difference between the make believe world of video games and real life. if your child understands this then they can play any game and know that this is not what you are supposed to do in real life and that for real people to do this it would be wrong and illegal. again key word here being real life.

It depends on how you play it. Some people just play it for the fun of stealing cars and driving them, and have the police chase them. There are police chases on Need for Speed too, and nobody says anything about it. If he stays away from the sex and drugs, it'll be ok (in my opinion).

I think any parent that lets their 13 year old play this game is being criminally negligent. Just my NSH Opinion. The rating is 18+, for a reason.
