Printing labels in Word - piece of cake.
For a full sheet of the same address, for instance, for return labels:
click Tools
cl Envelopes & Labels
cl Options to select the size label you wish
make your choice
cl o.k.
You will come to a dialog box with a blank "label" in which you will type the address.
Now, you will click "Print" - which will print a sheet of labels, or "New Document." If you choose New Document, you will have a Word document which you can save, print, and reprint at will.
If you want to setup a mailmerge with labels and a datafile, please leave me a message and I'll get back to you.
Sounds like you could use some instruction books. Why not go to www.amazon.com. Click on books, then look for the link for used books. If you are using MS Office, run a search for the appropriate program. I have saved a lot of money buying used books here and all I have received so far are in like new condition.

Word type programs print letter labels.
Greeting card programs have a wide variety of labels layouts that can be printed including labels for Disks.

You'll need to explain what you mean by "normal printer". Do you mean a dot matrix or a laser or an ink jet, etc..
