Target and Wal-Mart carry a cheap backing for rugs it looks like a checker board and be cut to fit or added to for larger rugs. You place that down then the rug over it end of worries, by the way we have the same kind of floors and they work great. Happy Holidays God Bless You and The Southern People.

Most hardware stores or carpet outlets sell double sided tape which you can apply to the back of the carpet and "sticks" to the floor. The problem with this is the tape wears out and you have the goo on the floor and the carpet. You can buy Velcro strips that are adhesive on one side for the floor. The carpet side, the Velcro can be sewn onto the back or glued. The Velcro works very well when applied right.

You can purchase carpet tape to help prevent this. It is a double sided tape that will stick to the floor and the underside of the carpet. Most home supply stores, including Wal Mart, sell it.
As a temporary fix you can "double up", (where all the sticky stuff is showing), some duct tape and use that.

At your local hardware store you should be able to find rolls of foamy plastic material - it's for lining your dish cabinets/cupboards. Buy some of that and glue it to the bottom of your rugs. (You can just apply it to the corners of the rug, it doesn't have to cover the whole bottom.) Wait for the glue to dry thoroughly before putting the rugs down though.

You can but a "no slip" mat to put under them. They come in rolls and you cut out the size you need (same concept as cabinet shelf liners). You can buy them at wal-mart. The have a foam/rubber texture. Just ask a sales associate, they'll know where to send you

i know a lot of people are suggesting that you use the foam backer, but my wife tried it and hated it. We finally just sprayed our rug bottoms with spray adhesive. Surprizingly, it works. Just remember to let the adhesive dry before putting them back down.

you better off just buying new ones. make sure they are slip proof. they will be more/much more expensive. so what, they will last forever. maybe also get a darker colour so they won't have to be washed as often and show less dirt.
