We have the regular ones - like hauling out the same ornaments year after year - and the littlest family member putting the angel on the top of the tree. But - my sister - on Thanksgiving - positions the uncooked turkey in a stand-up position and makes it do a song and dance. She does it every year and everybody loves to see it. Do you have any odd Holiday traditions like that?

I don't know how odd, this tradition is but every year... even though me and my brother are older now... we are still not allowed downstairs before my mom can go downstairs and turn on christmas music and turn on the lights of the christmas tree. But then once she finishes that, we have to take a picture on the steps every single year.... really its odd especially when my brother is 23 and still has to take the picture in our pjs on the steps before we go downstairs.

In my country - Bulgaria - throughout the whole month of March we wear the so called "martenichki", it is an accesory made of twisted red and white fabrics, that you wear on your hand or neck or put it on your jacket. There are hundreds of different designs. This is a very old tradition, associated with a legend about a great war, and a pigeon was sent out to warn the army about incoming attack, and the pigeon was wounded, so that its blood colored half of the white fabric which was used to bind the letter to its leg. So, from that day on we wear them Martenici.

I cook for my family every year and always put the tree up at the end of Thanksgiving and on Christmas eve we open our gifts at 12 am then on Christmas we go to my mom house and open more gifts every year.

lol are holiday is fun every christmas morning we wrap up dog bones and than we leave them under the tree and when my dog wakes up he sniffs them out tears the paper off than eats them. lol we also always poor eggnog down my grandfathers shirt cause he hates the smell.

on birthdays,my parents and siblings call and sing 'happy birthday' and cheer!! I don't answer my phone so it goes to voice mail so i can listen to it all day!! Love the dancing turkey gig!!...mind if i premiere it on Xmas?
