What do you mean reset the ABS ECU? Is the amber warning light on all the time?
If so, you have a hard code, It means that you have a major problem with the system, and must be corrected by obviously fixing the problem.
If it comes on once in a while, then you have a soft code, which could just be loose connections, corroded wires, not enough fluid in the reservoir.
Either way the problem has to be fixed in order for the light to go out. You could go to a technician and have him use a scan tool to diagnose the problem and erase the code.

Remove the ABS B2 fuse (15 amp fuse) in the underhood fuse box for at least three seconds. Reinstall the fuse, and drive the car. If the light comes back on, you can pull a code out of it without a scan tool.

Here is the location of the test connector. Short across the two terminals with the key off. I use a paper clip. Turn on the ignition, and watch the ABS light.

The codes are two digit codes, the light will flash a number of times, then pause and flash a number of times again. Four flashes, a pause, then four flashes indicates a code 44, right rear speed sensor, for example. The code will repeat three times. Remove the jumper and clear codes before driving.

It will cost you £20 if you shop about to get it on the computer and then they should be able to tell you what the problem is.
