We are seemingly 'sold' a bill of goods, regarding 'democracy' . . . but, do 'we the people' really have ANY say so, in our elected officials' decisions?
If our involvement in Iraq is truly the result of 'democracy' in action . . . shame on us for sacrificing our young, in attempts to establish it as THE form of govt, anywhere beyond our own troubled land !!!

The only blunder in Iraq was trying to make it a democracy after removing Saddam. Bush was correct in ousting Saddam. I believe Bush missed a golden opportunity to settle the Middle-East problem for all times. After taking over the territory, Iraq should have been split in three territories and divided between Iran, Turkey, and Syria. In return, those three countries would have had to agree to eliminate the Islamic threat to the world or lose the newly acquired territory.

I don't see that which you see my friend but the US Govt. had policies that obviously didn't favour them but that does not make them any worse. The war in Iraq was really uncalled for and i balme the Bush's administration for that but rite now, the mistakes has been made and what we need rite now is solution to the problems in iraq. First of all, we all know the wars of the Arabs (Muslims) obviously has no end and one needs a re-think when dealing with them. No country in this world has ever fought any of them (Afganistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon etc) successfully so i don't blame the Bush's administration cos whats really happening in Iraq is called a war of balance of power which is obviously normal but the rate at which people are been killed is alarming. The problems in Iraq would have occured even without the war in Iraq no matter how long but the Bush's war in Iraq only act as a catalyst that speeds its happening.
So my dear blame Bush less for the problems in Iraq cos he's facing pressures rite now and he needs the world's understanding and support.
Remember Sept.11

Sold a bill of goods...no doubt...but what if you knew something devestating was in store for this country but could not prove it. Without proof you could never get the American people to beleive. But Sadam was clearly a wild card Capable of sponsering terrorist activities against Americans. I think without a doubt Sadam left alone was going to pay us back at some point. And your crying becuase we did the right thing without asking JOE SIXPACK!? I thank god everyday for those men who are over there keeping America Terror free,,,no briefcase dirty bombs,no biological,no chemical.....I mean yeah in the old days when these people were capable of killing only hundreds at a time .....you can play by the old rules but now that terrorists are capable of killing hundreds of thousands,,maybe millions can you really afford to deal with a guy like Sadam in the old way? Give these Mass murderers a fair shake,,,I say no way,,,America must get used to preemptive strikes,,,the stakes are through the roof now. I never want to hear``oh New York is gone`` This is not 1945 should we treat other countries as we did in 1945? SCREW SADAM i`m not loosing sleep becuase we lied about weapons of mass destruction to get in there and make the world safer! Trust America to do the right thing in the long run,,we killed communisim (viet nam, berlin air lift ect.) We give aid till we bleed, and if that war was a war for oil why are we paying 275 a gallon,,,i`ll `tell you why,,,becuase we are bidding fairly with other countries for the oil! We are not the Russians or the germans in world war two. You want to be left alone..?? Don`t say ``i will kill hundreds of thousands of Americans`` After Sadam said that ,i think our intellegece agt. took over and took care of business in the only way they could in this bleeding heart society that is so use to the good life for generations that they feel pitty for mass murderers! Maybe we should have voted on going into Iraq and from now on we will let the average joe decide our path? I say sit back and trust ,,,we are a tool of god! How many billions have had their lives enriched in some way by America? In the history of the world America has helped more people than any country! We are not perfect,,far from it ,,but overall we have a lot to be proud of!

I don't know what the Hell a butt-in-skee is, but what you're saying is correct. We don't have control over our leaders we elect them once and leave them to their own devices. And any time a war (or rather a colonization) is used to forcibly impose democracy on a people, the cause of your work AND the cause of democracy is entirely lost.
