Your best place to go with short stories is magazines. Hit the local bookstore and look for fiction digests, pick up a few that seem like they'd fit your story, and read them to see which ones would be the best fit. Try your first pick first, and if that doesn't go, just go on down the line.

There's also a great book called Writer's Market that comes out every year with a guide to publishing houses--I'd definitely check the magazine section there.

For the record, don't expect magazine publishing to make you any real money--most pay around $40 and send you a few copies. But not only is it a great way to get your feet wet, it's helpful in things like looking for an agent for a novel if you can say "Look I got these published."

Get a copy of the newest Writer's Market, either from a bookstore or the library, and look for publishers related to the stories you write, whether by age or genre or word count, etc. Research them, and then query them. If they like it they'll probably accept it. If they don't, or if it's just not the right book for them, they'll reject it. Rejection happens. If you want to look up how to write query letters, or even what a query is (a letter asking for a publisher to look at you book and consider publishing it), just google "query letters"

PS-- You're never too young. I recently got my first rejection letter and I am only 14!

Creative Communications. Go to their website (poeticpower.com). You can submit your work there. I also reccommend writing to magazines, contests, etc. Good luck!

Have you ever thought of self publishing? sometimes it gets you into the game sooner.
