People get offended for the worst reasons.

My brother hasn't really spoken to me in three years, just because i was intrumental in hooking our parents back up together after a 40-year divorce

I am in your same boat. The more I do the less I am included. In my case, I believe it's because I am so different than everyone else and they don't "get" me but there is never a reason for family members to shut out another member. I have made a new family for myself.

Perhaps what everyone else in the family sees as being "nice and helpful", the other person may perceive as being "interfering" or "always on their case" ?

Maybe the "help" is not actually wanted - even if you think it is needed. Unwanted help can easily feel like a hinderance.

Sorry, not the answer you were after I guess.

That kind of stuff rears it ugly head especially when the person thinks he/she is been deprived of sth in the family. Its saddening when such happens but with time the person will come around. So cheer up and be patient.

Not sure how to answer this question.no details involved here.
Maybe resentment over the things in life other family members have accomplished and they haven't.just plain old jealously maybe..Or could be their ungrateful personality.Stop waisting your time, help someone who dearly appreciates you help and leave this one alone....

That's the dynamics of family.

It happens usually over unresolved past resentments and hurts.
