i grew up in nigeria and i moved here a couple years ago. i go back twice a year to visit. Nigeria has its good and bads. it is very corrupt and it is also very hard to find a job unless you know people who work there. However, nigerians are truly very nice warm people. Other places in the world, you can make freinds, you can even make good friends or best friends. But in Nigeria you make amazing life long friends that would do anything for you and treat you generously and full of kind heart.

Nigeria is not the best place, but it has some of the world's best people.

Originally from Nigeria. Is Nigeria a good place to live? It depends.

One thing for sure, you have to be street smart. You can get cheated easily. You can't act like a tourist...even though your accent might give it away.

You also don't want to go there alone. It's best if you are going to stay with a family who are Nigerians to help you adjust to the country.

Nigeria is a diverse country with 250 dialects spoken. Lagos is the main city (not the capital though). Honestly, even though Nigeria is a less developed country, you will be shocked how much wealth there is in Lagos... Lagos is a bit of NY and Los Angeles. We have the traffic and craziness of NY and the beautiful houses like LA.

Outside Lagos, there's nothing much in Nigeria. The capital, Abuja is relatively new and still growing.

My advice to you, don't go to Lagos unless you know people there. Finding a great paying job is almost next to impossible.

The downside and the big downside in living in Nigeria (aside from corruption) is INFLATION. Your paycheck does not go far. The wealthy people in Lagos are usually government workers or sole proprietors.

I hope I helped. I will glad to answer any more questions.

Certainly not. On the balance of Probabilities even just in the West African Region, Nigeria comes no where near Ghana or La Cote D'Ivoire (even with their strife.) You shuld go to Accra, Ghana and see how Nigerians are setting up businesses and buying up property. Ask Cheif Dele Momodu of Ovation and all his friends (The Actors-Zack Orji, Jake Aeyrnan etc, Comedians - Gbenga Adeyinka, Basketmouth etc) who have either relocated or turned Ghana into theri preferred vacation spot. The UK is too far away and offers little by way of safety , securtiy, warmtyh of the people and camaraderie of your nationals.
Nigerians are even dashing over to have fancy but not too expensive weddings in Accra. Currency is stable, and about to be re-denominated so that $1.00 will be GHcedis0.98.

A good place to raise your kids with sme of the best universitiies in the world there.................
