I want to buy this trailer from a friend, but I really don't beleive him when he tells me what it has been renting for. It's been on the same lot since 1990, the utility companies say it has had a sketchy rental history the whole time.

Don't buy something that could give you grief.....look for something that has a positive history....you won't have to worry about waisting time or money....

I wouldn't recommend buying a trailer that old.It will end up being a money pit. In the first, place a trailer that old isn't worth anything. If you need financing for it, chances are very slim of getting it.Trailers back in the 80's were made so shabbily, you will probably end up having nothing but problems and repairs with it.

As far as renting a old, small trailer like that in a rural community,I doubt if you could get more then maybe $200.00 a month, but you would really need to check on what rentals are going for in that area. Just remember, that is a very small trailer, so you can't compare the amount of rent with a just say 16x80 trailer.

If I were you, I would go buy a new one. They are so cheap and financing is easy. If you are wanting to use it as a rental, you could probably buy a new or newer one and your payments would be so low, that you could still rent it out and make money on it.
