I think that's mainly a northern thing. Texas had a lot of Czech immigrants, who brought the polka and accordion with them which influenced the region's music. And when you're drunk on tequila, oh boy! Come on! It's a happy song! Everybody dance!

For those of you outside of S. California you wouldn't understand this question. It really dose sound like German drinking music or Polka. Lots of bouncy Tuba.

My guess is that since a lot of Europeans did settle in Mexico at one time. The Mexicans adapted the Europeans music into their own culture.
