What the Founding Fathers had in mind with that statement was to protect our borders from encroachment by other governments, the individual freedom to live in a manner encouraging the pursuit of hap pines, and reasonable taxation with representation.

Today's interpretations by the legislative, executive, and judicial branch has lost that spirit of that intent by light years.

"To promote better living condition of the citizens" is my interpretation.

After all, our constitution is by the citizen and for the citizens.
