How bout...
You live in a cabin in the woods because the world population has died or dying..only a few people live on earth.
Then one stormy night, people literally start coming out of the woodwork, confused and dazed. People from all over the world, some don't speak English. They were somewhere else, now they're here.
After some research... (which should take you several pages) you find that all of them died somehow, somewhere from around the world....which really freaks you out.
Climax: You find out what is really happening....We are recycled in the universe. Once we die, we are not able to come back until everyone we know is dead. So, people who died 100 years ago are coming back, but with no memory of their previous lives. This is all quite shocking, but you learn that YOU TOO have been recycled...but were not given the usual "medication" to have your memory erased. You can see it now, You were in an accident many years ago...and you died. Now, it's the present and you "came back" just like everyone else, but you knew you were in an accident, but had amnesia when you "came to".
If you choose to write about this, then write me back and tell me how it went.
Good luck.

Try something along these lines:- Watch Al Gore's documentary on "Global Warming", combine that with the millions that are infected and dying from HIV/AIDS - take the two "major" issues on this planet NOW... combine the two into a story like - as the world is melting, the sun is no longer good for us,the animals, vegetation die, we can't breath anymore, we Find a Cure for HIV/AIDS, vegetation that was lost to society because of millions of tons of snow and ice on the top of it. Now that we have a cure, Society "breaks out" into anarchy over the issue, as by now, we are in serious trouble and need all the resources put towards saving humanity! - The moral of the story would be: World Peace... you work it out! We are ALL the Same, and each and everyone one of us, Must Work Together, No Matter Where and Who we are! - Good Luck, and Merry Christmas! Hope I helped the "light" go on!

Write about how u think that mythical creatures half human and half animal became that way and why? Like the 1/2 human 1/2 horse men and why we only see men not women in that species, mermaids and mermen, the 1/2 human and 1/2 animal in Narnya who Lucy befriended what species is he and where did he come from? I have a great story to tell but would like to hear other reactions.

Search in the news under discoveries, and see if you can generate some ideas for yourself there. There are plenty of things happening in science now, in reality, that are blowing people away.
The 'Green Streak' meteor which recently flew across the sky, there's a starting point for you. The disappearance of the Mars Global Surveyor.
Good luck with your effort to trump reality!

My daughter wrote a story about a girl who took so many types of diet pills she turned into a Barbie Doll. She got the idea from all the weight loss commercials. Maybe you can find some inspiration from what's around you.

Try some philosophy, mixed with science. A trip with Einstein supposedly?
A hero gets to a ride in time with professor Einstein and a couple of weirdoe's from future. He explains the theory basing on which they can do time travel not breaking his law (he didn't give a limit speed for extending limits of space (or universe or matter in it. You know what I mean) - thus having enough energy you can make a sort of a bubble of space, and draw the space in front of you, pushing it away behind you [that thanks to the deflection of the space-time] thus, the extending and shrinking space will push you faster than the speed of light, which, in turn, it is believed, makes you travel in time. But as you are in a bubble of space, and within it you do not move faster than the speed of light, you do not brake any laws...)
Than there are some interesting discussions about time and space in general, the paradox of the twins, maybe, a discussion about how the weirdoe's made it possible to get that amount of energy to do this bubble (I have heard of something called "energy of point 0" which is a macrometric radiation found in every point of space in its every part. It is said that energy filling the space the size of your average glass is capable to evaporate all the oceans in the world - a good energy source, though it is hard to get it - we can get only small amounts of that energy in lab conditions. The weirdoes might have worked out how to get larger amounts of it.), how they fetched Einstein, and accidentally found him watching when they landed in those times, so they took him with them.
Then maybe something like: One of the arguments against time travel is that no one ever saw people from future. But it would seem that surprisingly many people saw a UFO...
Are you trying to imply that...?
Hell, we have a bit of good photos of our craft right here - said one of the weirdoes handing him an album "UFO sightings over the years" -
There is even one made by Aztecs - added the second weirdo winking
then maybe some philosophical debate on why is it that there should be no other universes? (the theory says there ARE more universes - and their assembly is called multiverse)
Than some philosophical debate on "why do you think that a universe blowing in another universe is impossible?" (although that was me idling one day, and I don't think scientists would find it probable... the reasoning probably has a lot of mistakes... but, after all, this is supposed to be fiction... and it might make an impression if well written...)
Well, if we imagine space as an assembly of points, and as we well know a point is the smallest geometrical form - it has no volume - and if we agree that space has blown up from one point, and if we, than, imagine a point with four dimensions - length, height, width and time, and agree, that there can be an exact number of cases - things that happen at a given time with a point, and one of these cases is a universe blowing up, and we agree, that there is no actual time given, and we can count it as infinite, than, given any small probability of a beginning of a new universe - a universe is bound to blow up in every existing point of the space some day (note: here space not as universe but that what is around any universe, and before it blows up). Plus as we have a large number of points in our Universe, it is probable that it will explode somewhere within it. And if it should explode somewhere, give me one good reason why it shouldn't do it in front of your nose? Fat chance, yes, but still a chance. It does not target, the blow up, you know, so it might not target on the utmost boundaries of our universe, and so it might accidentally blow up in front of your nose...
Apart from that you might find something interesting about time and space, or maybe different things (after all, if our hero is already in a timecraft he might land in future - or past and get sculpted by the ancient Egyptians or bring home a gadget/device from future, or maybe just see some ancient/future world...)
if you will use that I would be glad to read it - mail me at enthernae@yahoo.com

Keep working on your homework.
BTW, be sure to use a grammar & spell checker. You meant "planet", not "plant". Not good for your grades.
