yes u should wear a pad today. during last summer break i was at a stupid day care place. (dont ask why) anyway i had ended my period the day before. i was pretty sure of it. i had it for 7 days and i didnt bleed at al the day before. i was in the courtyard with my friends and a couple of guys playing football. i was running and my stomach hurt real bad. i felt a weird gush. good thing there's a bathroom in the courtyard! ran to the bathroom. i looked and i had blood everywhere! luckily i didnt stain my pants! i got a big wad of toilet paper and used that. i told my friends. one of them had a purse and gave me a pad. then we went on a feildtrip that same day! i was hurting and bleeding really bad all the way there! i used the bathroom 3 times within 20 minutes becuz i almost leaked! then i drank a bit of water and felt better. i know my story may be pointless but wat im trying to say is that wear a pad just in case.

Aww. First of all congratulations on joining the sisterhood of women.
Your period usually lasts about 5 days. Maybe more or less. Usually later in the week you tend to not bleed as much during the night. But since it has been 8 days, then I think it is safe to say that your first period is officially over. Just 3 or so more weeks until your next one!
Just a question, have you spoken with your mother about this? If not, perhaps you can. Or speak with an older sister or cousin, they will be able to give you support if you have any worries or questions. Good luck!

if it has stopped during the night, then it's likely over..until next month anyway :) since this was your first period, your body is adjusting and your periods can be irregular..Hang in there! and keep pads around for the next time. Good luck, and congratulations!

Best to wear a pad or panty liner for a couple of days just to make sure. Better safe than sorry.

most of the time when you first get your period it stays on longer than when you been had it. First times is the worse time b/c it stays on longer than it is suppose to. But you should keep a pad on just in case.

Congrats to womanhood, it's all down hill after this. If you feel like you may start bleeding again, wear a liner just in case like the other person suggested. Hope everything works out.

Congratulation! Welcome in women's world:]]]
I used to be in a similiar situation. At the beginningg there are some irregularities, so wear a pad even after such a night, and next month - just BEFORE "those days", othervise you may be really suprised;( Use a callendar, may be helpful.
Soon you will get used to everything.

After 8 days I think you should be good. When I first got mine it was not very predictable. Sometimes it would go away after 4 days and come back for the last days. I think your good.
