Never....I dress to be comfortable, and sometimes to make myself smile....which is why dressing for special occasions is very hard for me to do.

I dress to feel good about myself - mostly all the time. I love fashion...high fashion. Love high heeled pointed toes even with jeans. Love whatever is in style...now the wide belts. Whatever I can afford, sometimes what I can't (when I'm being bad).
Anyway, I dress to impress myself (doesn't really matter what other people think); however, if others are impressed when I dress, well, that's cool, too...bonus!

Of course I do, when the situation warrants it. A good example is a job interview; (I'll use a male example because that's my perspective, not intending to be sexist.) If 2 applicants for the same job have identical resumes and qualifications, but one shows up for the interview dressed "comfortable" and the other is in a coat and tie, which would you choose? If you show that you have no pride in how you look how do you think others will perceive you?

Just special occasions. I used to dress to the hilt for work each day. Suits, cuff-links, etc. I miss those days.

Don't we all?
Sometimes we think we are not trying to impress anyone, just because we are not dressed up, but we also try to impress others in a rebellious way.
Most of the time we choose our looks to SAY something, and then we are impressing someone or no one in particular.
