Depend What you mean for computers , I'm a MS Computer Engineer and go to NJIT. so if you are thinking about Hardware Engineering or Electrical Best to go to Institute of technology type school and not a regular University ,as most dont even have those options offered.
however If you want to be a software developer Bachlors Degree will only give you the basic understanding of programming Only Schools that teach specific Programing classes such as 1 year of .Net Development in a ITT type school will make you better programmer in a quater of the time. however proficient in one item until it gets obsolete. University is waste of time in about 70% of the classes when it comes to Real Work, history ethics bla bla dont help much, nnot enough focus on what you want to do on a job and 90% come unprepared for the job when complete BS Degree.
I think a combination of both types of schooling is best Bs. to satisfy the min requirements of most jobs and then additional outside courses from a dedicated school that teaches only the item that is in your mind to do. this way you actually become proficient in one thing and base your resume on it.
