Orllandobillybob didn't get the question: compressing a picture reduces (or should reduce) the file size, not the size of the picture itself.

However, animated gifs conform to a standard that does not allow for file compression (as far as I know), so the only ways to reduce the file size of a gif would be by

- dropping frames
- reducing the quality of the individual frames
- reducing the measurements (= size) of the frames

By definition, compression means altering size.

You have to sacrafice something.
