If you get anything about verification appearing to be from eBay, chances are its not. To check and see if it is really from eBay; Open a new browser window, go to eBay.com, sign in, go to "my eBay" and then to "my messages". If the message doesn't appear in your messages on eBay.com then the message you received in your email is fraud. If it does turn out to be a fraud email, go to this page http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/?ssPageName=home:f:f:US and report the email you received. This process will help make eBay a little safer for all of us!

I've gotten loads since I purchased one miserable item. They always ask you to verify your account and of course your credit card no., so they can steal it .. It's called spoof, , deception but not a virus. Delete it immediately, In time they will get the message. Ebay never asks you for verification. . Why don't you write Ebay and they will elaborate.

I have never gotten one. There was a memo on Ebay warning people that this was a scam and Ebay would never contact anyone via email for account verification. They stated to ignore this and to never respond.

Are you promoting a phone on Ebay? you do not deliver something till the money has cleared your Paypal account and easily once you go surfing on your account instantly. Paypal isn't placed in Missouri. it really is in California. If that's an Ebay merchandise you're promoting, the customer would really have an Ebay account, so look into their feedback and transaction heritage.

It is a scam and it may be a Trojan. Never open those things.
Go to your "My Ebay" on the Ebay site and you can get any correspondence actually sent to you by Ebay.
Do not open "Ebay" email you receive in your own email account.

It's called spoofing. And it's sent out to thousands in the hope that someone will be foolish enough to send them their name, address, telephone number, social security number, checking account, etc., then you've become the victim of identify theft. You can send them to spoof@ebay.com and they will acknowledge receipt of it and thank you for it. they have ways of tracking these, we don't. Or if you have a spam blocker, just block it. Eventually you'll get another one, but keep reporting or blocking them.
