I've decided to have a c-section. On the 7th, I have an appointment at the hospital to let them know what i want to do. I'm due on the 12th. but what happens if i go into labour before then?
obviously we go to the hospital, but what else should i do, and what happens when i get there?

If you go into labor before your appointment, they will just go ahead and put you in for c-section without the appointment. It'll be the same as if you were there for your appointment, except that it might be at a faster pace.

This happened to me..I had a scheduled c-section for February 13th (which was a Friday the 13th!) Well..someone didn't inform my son that he wasn't to arrive until then...he came early...My water broke etc...I was 7 centimeters when I got to the hospital...they SUGGESTED I go natural...(I had my first 2 children naturally and my 3rd was emergency c-section!) BUT I was also getting my tubes tied while they were in there for the c-section! They did an ultra sound and found that in one week my son had completely flipped and was ass first...so I still got the c-section!! When you go into labor...whether it's the c-section or not...they will ask you and suggest what is safest and best for both YOU and your baby...GOOD LUCK!!!

What they might do is probably give you something to slow down the labor process if they really want you to wait until then... and if they decide to take the baby then be relieved you have an extra 5 days before it's over with. Don't worry, let the nurses and doctors decide that, just concentrate on trying to relax before the baby comes.

I went into labor before I went to the hospital with my first child for a c-section. Although you go into labor means nothing they can STILL do the c-section! CONGRATS!

if u go into labor early then u rush to the hospital. they try to stop ur labor and perform an emergency c-section...unless u'd rather just go ahead with the natural birth and the dr. says that's safe.

Well I would assume that they would just take you into the OR and do the C-section anyhow.
