It means that cable is already available in the neighborhood where the house is located.
You would still have to contact the cable company to have an account set up for that location.

When a house is advertised that cable is available means that tv cables run through the area where the home is built or being built. If it says cable equipped, the house has already been wired for cable and jacks are placed in different areas within the house..

In my area (Canada), it usually means that the apartment can have cable television installed, as it already has lines run into each apartment. It does NOT mean that the cable service is active. You may need to sign up for it.

You should also read between the lines. It also may mean that you MUST use the cable service that they offer and may not be allowed to obtain a competitor's TV service, such as satelite TV or another type.

Honestly, I wouldn't take it to mean more than the cable company has stated they would support installing cable to this house, if you wanted it -- that is, cable lines are on the street or close enough to run to your house if you wanted it installed.

As part of the tour (with a realtor, open house, etc.) I'd double check that cable lines are run to the house (saves you ~$300) and that cable has been run throughout the house (saves you some money here too).

Of course, depending on where you set up your furniture, you may need to run extra wire to different rooms or different walls of rooms.

Usually that means that there are cable outlets already installed in the house and that the local cable company will service your address.

I presume you mean cable TV? It means that cables have been laid in the street outside and that you will be able to connect to your local cable provider's service.

That means that you have the cable hook ups, but you have to order the cable services.
