After 8 years of doing shop work over Christmas I have developed a deep hatred of all the commonly played Christmas songs.
Last year I got an album called "Stuff Ya Turkey" with punk cover versions of Christmas songs like White Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I like this album.
I also like The Jethro Tull Christmas Album, and the Blackmore's Night album Winter Carols. Both have great songs and instrumentals.
My overall favourite is probably "Birthday Card at Christmas" by Jethro Tull. It is clever and modern and yet very classic,

Not a Christmas song but No.1 in the charts Christmas 1979 was 'Another brick in the wall part2' by the Pink Floyd which I think is unusal enough to mention. It's the only time that the seasonal top record wasn't a christmas song (I think).

So many Christman songs are so overpleyed during the month of the 24/7 pre-Christmas Christmas Music onslaught that they get annoying really fast, especially when too many artists sing them and they get butchered by trying to make them sound original. However, I would have to say that I would need to hear "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio many times to get sick of it. The whole album is cool. Check it out.

It's amazing. It's a rock attempt at a christmas song and The Used just pulled it off perfectly.

Yeh. I know it's a crap song really, but My Chemical Romance just made it perfect.

First Rock christmas song I heard. The lyrics are amazing.

O Holy Night - just sums up what Christmas is supposed to be all about for me.
Celine Dion does a pretty good version, but it's best sung by a Tenor.
