I think if you do it everyday you should charge 75 a week for one and add 50 for each child they have after that. ( they supply the food and stuff). I think if it is a off and on thing like at night or a few hrs here and there (5-6$ a hr.) I think for older children you should ask only 50-60 everyweek but the same other than that. It really depends on were you live. I am in TX in ( not in a REALLY big city but in a good sized one) If you are like in a POPULAR city I would charge up to 100 a week (or more) or $7-8 an hr. The best thing is to ask what they are wanting to pay and if it is too low tell them don't feel ashamed.( you might get more out of them than you will ask for)

There are a number of factors that should be figured in to how much you pay your sitter. We are in Chicago and have 3 daughters ages 6.5, 3.5 and 22 months. Our sitter has been with us for 3 years now and we pay her $16/hour plus a bonus at the end of the year.
If this is just an evening babysitter than figure out how many kids will be there, how much experience the sitter has, etc.
If this is more like a job for the sitter than the following things should be figured into how much you're paying.
*number of kids
*number of hours
*what is the sitter supposed to do around the house? is she just picking up after the kids? or is she doing laundry, cooking meals, running errands and going above and beyond what she is meant to do?
**here is an awesome rate calculator that has proven to be very useful:

like the above user just said it depends on how long and how many kids you got and sometimes the distance ...I would say for about an avg of 2-3 kids 5days a wk. about $50 a wk.

Depends on how many kids, and for how long....
Since I have 2 kids, I would pay $5-6 an hour.....
