because we are already spending TRILLIONS of $ for the war...and making a new law would just cost alot more $. who would monitor it? we have too many laws now as it is.

Sedition is a bad law. It covers covert conduct such as speech and organization that is deemed by the authorities as tending toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority.
It doesn't make a distinction for peaceful protest against a government or a government policy, nor of attempting to change the government by legal means.
Think it's never enforced? Ask Laura Berg, a nurse at a U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs hospital in New Mexico who was investigated in September 2005 and charged for sedition after writing a letter to the editor of a local newspaper, criticizing the government. Ms. Berg is now being represented by the ACLU.
Long live free speech.

this war in iraq is a useless war,its all about oil.It was supposs to be a retaliation against iraq for the 911 bombing ,however Iraq isn,t the ones that was responsible for that,it was Saudie araba, but our president did not want to retaliate against them because he has a big stock in the oil there,so we started the Iraq war...Its all about oil! I think now that the democrates are in office, which they want the war stopped, the President has been under a lot of stress, the people are not happy with Bush,s war on Iraq......The laws are made and the senate throws them out,all we will get is the laws that they want to make.this is suppose to be a free country, but it is getting less free as we go.

It already IS a crime to deny that we are helping in Iraq. That crime is called sedition....the purposeful distortion of facts for purposes of undermining, interfering or overthrowing government.
We simply don't put people in prison for this anymore. The laws are there but we don't enforce them.
Probably, we should. Many people have stopped engaging in free speech and are, instead, engaging in criminal activities.

Because of a little thing called the first amendment to the constitution - you know, the document that our leaders are sworn to uphold, and our armed forces are sworn to protect.
