What works and what does not depends on your cultural background and the basis that the relationship is founded on. For as long as written history women have successfully married men much older than themselves, with much more than a 20 year difference. But, their culture placed great importance in the financial security such a marriage brought, and placed little emphasis on romantic love or whatever physical comfort or discomfort the woman might receive from the relationship.
For example, in 1800 Sir Hyde Parker at the age of 62 married an 18-year-old bride. Such marriages were common, but the motivation for the young women were financial, and as such the marriages worked for them because it provided financial security and often brought an elevation in the social circles she was allowed access to.

I do not believe that society views 15, 20, 25, 30 age year
differences between older males / younger females in a very
negative manner....Sometimes perhaps a little negatively
amongst some individual members of society but not as a whole.
"Trophy Wife" has become a respected career goal for young women.

My wife is 10 yrs older and has 3 kids. We are happy and it works well. We are also interracial. People figured we were just a fling and expected us to fail. Age is a number. The important thing is to be on the same page. We have a lot in common. Many people might think you want a fatherly figure and he may be in search of a child figure due to you having a 20 year age difference. Only you know what your all about....good luck.

Well, considering my husband is 24 years older than I am, I'd have to say it's a wonderful thing. We've been married for almost 15 years and we still act like newlyweds for the most part. I am so very blessed. I've really never cared what others thought. Thier views haven't tarnished our happiness. For the most part though people are cool with it.

as long as you two are comfortable with your relationship and everything is working out, quit worrying about what others are saying or doing and just enjoy each other and being together. A good relationship is very hard to find and is very precious for however long it lasts, so have fun be in love or lust or whatever you two are, let the others say what they want they MIGHT also be jealous. Life and decent relationships are too short to waste on other people's

The only thing that matters is that you are equals. A relationship will be successful if you have compatibility in bed, there is open communication and compromise.
If you two are intellectually compatible as well as sexually then you should be fine.
Also in affairs of the heart; let the heart rule not the head.

If you two love each other, are compatible and think you're right for each other - who cares what anybody else thinks? Ignore the idiots! And anyway, traditionally, women have always dated older men, so what's the problem? Tell the nosy knuckleheads to mind their business!

I would love to date someone 20 years younger than me. It would be a blast. I would enjoy every minute of it.

There was a 20 year difference between my mom's parents and her father died when she was 13. Growing up without a father was tough, so that's one possible problem.

as long as it is an actual Woman, not a girl, then who cares?
If its a 16 year old with a guy in his thirties, then its time to take the guy out back and have a good long talk with him that involves a baseball bat.
