Sinders, Lexer. Any name can be scary, it's the writing of the character that makes it scary. You could have a normal name like Anne or John and make it scary if you write the character that way.

Since everyone else is slamming you with known names, how about "John Kerry"?? or "Hillary Clinton"?? lol

OK... seriously...
The name should be scary because of what is scary about the character. Also, do you need a guys name or a girl's name, or one that matches both? Or are you looking for a scary name for the book?

Try these on for size:
Carol Lee Averson (C-LE-AVE)
Simon Instenton (S-IN)
"As Long As We Both Shall Live" (Book title)

Doctor Lambchop. It's subtle, a bit devious. Sounds almost friendly, but with a sting or two. The Doctor title suggests intelligence, therefore knows how to get at people,

I find people who prefer to be called by their full name quite scary, like Christopher. But if you're after a made-up name then I'd suggest Scarp. A combination of scar and carp, can you think of anything worse? Sounds mutilated and ugly.

Some of the scariest characters ever have had deceptively normal names. Look at Norman Bates for example.
