unless u have witnesses or pictures......or a police report...there is no proving domestic violence. I was married to a man for 4 years that abused me.......the last beating I was taken to the hospital....and this police officer came in and took pictures....but stupid me...was afraid he would come after me and so I didnt press any charges. So if I had...there would have been a record of it....and the judge would have thrown the book at him when we divorced...but instead...since I didnt file a report...it was said we couldnt get alone anymore....so...this is what I would do....if you are still with him....stay until the next beating.....then after he leaves marks on you......go to the hospital......they will send a police officer to takes pictures.........then file a report on him...they will pick him up and take him to jail....and it wouldnt be a bad idea...to have a voice activated recorder on you at all times...and record his verbal abuse as well........I know there is some verbal abuse there too .....because abusive men dont just bruise your body....they try to bruise your spirit as well.......hope I helped in some way...good luck....

Get a doctor's report of your injuries. But dont pin all your hopes on the courts. It's a real lottery depending on the judge you get. I was in and out of court for 5 years. 5 injunctions - all broken in minutes. I had police reports, witnesses, tape recordings - but the judges still acted like it was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. He ended up with a suspended sentence in the end but it was utter hell - about 40 court hearings.
Look after yourself. Build up your friendships. Dont get isolated. Say positive affirmations every day. Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself. There is light at the end of the tunnel - you just have to focus on yourself and get strong. Try Rights of Women for advice if you need an injunction - though be aware that the real gits may apply for one against you too or even pretend that you attacked them. If you dont have kids, then keep him out of your life and count your blessings. Dont whatever you do be tempted to go back. Also bear in mind that only a few judges will listen to tape recordings.

unfortunately you will probably never be able to prove it cause the judge will rule witnesses as hearsay and wont believe them.
Why no police report were you scared ? well now the abuser knows you will not call the police on them. You have squat now. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

Do you have doctor reports? mental health reports? Witnesses?
All the judge can do is hear you out. If he/she feel you are telling a big story, you won't beable to prove it.
What about ex's that were abused? Get them to testify.
GOOD LUCK.

Its going to be, he said she said, but if yu have witnesses or hospital reports, and maybe some photos, that would help. If this person gets pissed easy, try and ruffle his feathers in front of the judge, so the judge can see his reactions. Many experienced judges are very good at reading people. Good luck.

I was accused of punching my ex, the eye, and the arm, now i assume police have taken photos of the bruises,
no witnesses, my word against hers basically, now do i have any rights, or defense.
Take into account that i have never been in trouble with the law, or physically abused anyone.
