what are the things you typically place on the nightstand? in or on the drawers?

hehe..i know i know lame question, i need some answers cause im designing this hotel nightstand and it helps to know what are the basic essentials people usually place on top. like i would guess, passport, room keys, wallet, ecc...

Depends on the hotel (if there's danger of the stuff getting stolen),
and how paranoid I'm feeling at the moment (ever since the photo-with-toothbrush-on-the-b*tt supposedly urband legend I have trouble leaving personal things laying around) :-p
I usually leave the stuff pretty much packed, sometimes some clothes go on the drawers (with some plastic lining it--hotels can be so disgusting! The person before you might've put filthy clothes in there...), and maybe a book or travel guide go on the nightstand.
And I never ever EVER step barefoot on the floor... UGH!
I try to travel light anyways...

If by nightstand you mean side table I would place my mobile phone or a watch, a pad and pen in case I have to note down anything. In the drawers would come my small item of clothings like undergarments, socks etc. If the nightstand is near you place your gown there.On top of the drawer I would place the things I would require the next day so I dont forget anything when I leave the hotel for the day.

nothing, hotels are nasty, I leave everything but my hanging clothes in my suitcase
I move the night stand away from the bed so I don't hit my arm when sleeping and take everything but the clock off the stand
the drawers are for storing all the displays and junk they put in the room
then I wash my hands

i dont put anything at all in the drawers, i live out of the suitcase. as for the night stand, well i only put my car keys and cell phone on top and thats about it, o maybe a drink.

I don't use the drawers, I live out of my suitcase, no matter how long I am there. I leave nothing out, and when I leave my room for the day, everything is in my suitcase, locked.
